Wooden Queen

Sculpture
Wood; 25 cm
Edition: 11.

This sculpture continues the playful Yoomoota collection, transforming the iconic chess queen into an independent art object. The refined figure evokes a rose: delicate, yet armed with sharp thorns that ensure its protection. At the sculpture's apex sits the queen's throne—the most powerful player on the board, possessing the greatest freedom of movement. Crafted from solid walnut using hand-carved techniques, this work embodies power, danger, and the simultaneous vulnerability of even the most influential figure.
