Wooden King

Sculpture
Wood; 25 cm
Edition: 11.

This work continues the playful Yoomoota collection, transforming an iconic chess king into an independent art object. At the summit of the sculpture stands his unreachable throne, before which all other figures bow, ready to sacrifice themselves for the king. Crafted from solid walnut using hand carving, the work depicts a vulnerable and suspicious hero who observes the game from his outpost and commands the entire play.
